About

The Heart Behind My Practice

My name is Lupe Macias‑Hidalgo, LAC, and my journey began in Quito, Ecuador, where I was born and raised. I am a bilingual trauma therapist dedicated to supporting individuals—especially Gen Z—as they process and heal from the painful experiences that have shaped their lives. My clinical focus includes unhealthy relationship patterns, family estrangement, emotional abuse, gaslighting, and betrayal trauma. I work with clients navigating ADHD, helping them understand their neurobiology, build self‑compassion, and develop practical strategies that support emotional regulation, executive functioning, and daily life. I also provide affirming, compassionate support to members of the LGBTQ+ community, helping them explore identity, strengthen self‑acceptance, and heal from experiences of rejection or discrimination. I believe deeply in a collaborative therapeutic relationship: meeting clients exactly where they are, expanding awareness with compassion, and working together toward meaningful, self‑defined goals. My therapeutic approach integrates several modalities: - Person‑Centered Therapy: Empowering clients to take ownership of their mental well‑being and personal growth. - EMDR: Helping reduce distress and reprocess traumatic memories. - Mindfulness: Cultivating present‑moment awareness and grounding. - Narrative Therapy: Exploring and reshaping the stories that influence identity and healing. - Existential Therapy: Supporting clients in exploring meaning, choice, and self‑determination. I am passionate about helping you reclaim your narrative, make aligned decisions, practice self‑compassion, build confidence, and move toward the life you envision for yourself. Beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, so let’s pause together for a moment—inhale deeply, exhale slowly, and notice what’s around you. You’re already taking an important step. Thank you for giving yourself permission to be human, to feel your feelings, and to speak your truth. I look forward to walking alongside you in this process. ***This practice is operated by a non-independent licensed clinician under Board-approved clinical supervision. All services are provided in compliance with Arizona Administrative Code R4-6-211. Supervision provided by Noel, D'Avy, LPC, approved by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
